Layer displays information about racial disparity of poverty using data from the 2010-2014 American Community Survey (ACS). The Index of Disparity (ID) is used to show the magnitude of variation in indicator percentages across population groups. In this case, the index measures the difference in the percentage of populations of different racial and ethnic groups living below the poverty level.

The ADI map displays rankings of neighborhoods by socioeconomic status disadvantage in a region of interest (e.g. at the state or national level). It includes factors for the theoretical domains of income, education, employment, and housing quality. It can be used to inform health delivery and policy, especially for the most disadvantaged neighborhood groups.

It can be used to inform health delivery and policy, especially for the most disadvantaged neighborhood groups. The 2015 ADI (v2.0) was constructed using the 2011-2015 5-year estimates from the US Census’ American Community Survey. The methods are identical to the 2013 ADI construction.
