Improvements made to calculations for all mortality indicators sourced from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Wide-ranging Online Data for Epidemiologic Research (WONDER) Database.

State-level mortality rates now queried directly from the CDC WONDER database (instead of summarized from county-level data) to provide more accurate estimates. The previous method was affected by data suppression in some states, resulting in inaccurate figures. Affected indicators: Cancer Mortality Heart Disease Mortality Stroke Mortality Suicide Homicide

New maps and data now available for county-level health insurance indicators from the US Census Bureau’s Small Area Health Insurance Estimates (SAHIE) Program.

New data from the Census Bureau’s SAHIE program has been processed and released. New estimates compliment state and PUMA-level health insurance coverage estimates from the ACS (Indicator: Uninsured Population (Total).
