Name and description updated for “Population in Linguistically Isolated Households”.

Indicator name and description have been updated to reflect changes in the 2014 American Community Survey documentation. Specifically, the terminology has changed from “Linguistically Isolated households” to “Limited English speaking households”. The characteristics used to identify these households are unchanged.

New maps and data now available for 5 cancer incidence indicators from the CDC / NCI State Cancer Profiles databases.

New 5-year average cancer incidence rates for 2008-2012 are now available (replacing data for 2007-2011). Breakouts are available by race and ethnicity. County-level breakouts added to Reading Below Proficiency (US) indicator.

County-level estimates have been added to the Reading Below Proficiency indicator. Data are estimates from school district figures, obtained by proportionally weighting and then aggregating the data for each school district that intersects a county. School district weights are based on the school-aged population (5-17) from the 2010 Decennial Census.

New maps and data now available for 3 Clinical Care indicators from the Dartmouth Atlas of Healthcare.

New data on primary care utilization among Medicare beneficiaries are available for 2012 (replacing data for 2010). Time series data are now available for years 2008 through 2012. New maps and data now available for 9 mortality indicators from the CDC WONDER Underlying Cause of Death Database.

New 5-year mortality rates for 2007-2011 are now available (replacing data for 2006-2010). Breakouts available by gender and by combined race/ethnicity. Single-year mortality rates for 2002 through 2011 have been added to display trends over time for states and the total US only.
